How to Navigate the Coronavirus and Your Wedding
/These are crazy times that no bride or groom ever imagined when planning their wedding a year ago. So, what the heck do you do? If your wedding is in the midst of the Coronavirus chaos, here are some tips:
➳ Communicate with your vendors. If your wedding is in March, April, or May you should communicate your game plan with your vendors ASAP and get everyone on board. If it’s after July, try not to worry! If you ordered your dress late and it’s coming from China, shoot your vendor an email or a phone call to confirm if their shipments are delayed.
➳ Inform your guests. To avoid having the same conversation over and over again, add a paragraph to your wedding website addressing your COVID-19 game plan and letting them know how you’ll keep them informed.
➳ Consider a livestream. For those that cannot or choose not to travel, this can be an easy alternative to allow them to be a part of your day. You can ask your videographer about this or delegate the task to a tech-savvy friend.
➳ If you have decided to postpone the wedding, consider having an elopement or micro-wedding ceremony on your original date. You can still involve your closest family and friends at an elopement, or it can just be you, your boo, your officiant and your photographer.
➳ Remember what’s important. You’re getting married to your best friend and the wedding itself is just a byproduct of that. Scream into your pillow when needed, and then count your blessings.
