Why I Recommend Engagement Photos to my Wedding Clients
/Engagement sessions are my favorite. They’re so laid back and low-pressure, which can sometimes be the exact opposite of a wedding day. Here are some things you might want to consider if you're on the fence about engagement photos and why I encourage my wedding couples to have them.
Why I Recommend Engagement Photos to my Wedding Clients
This is your biggest opportunity to become comfortable in front of the camera.
Engagement sessions are relaxed and casual, whereas the wedding day can sometimes be fast-paced.
I’ll get to know you guys and your personalities SO much better having met at the engagement session, rather than meeting you the first time in person at the wedding.
On the flip side of that, you’ll really get to know me and how I operate behind the camera, which will make the wedding shoot a lot smoother since you'll know what to expect.
I can guarantee you'll be more comfortable in front of the camera on your wedding day after having done an engagement session.
You'll have professional photographs that can be incorporated into anything wedding related from your wedding website, to your save the date or even your wedding guest book.
Quality time together. You’ll have a solid two hours of quality time together, focusing on your love and relationship, without being distracted by your phones.
You can use this as an opportunity to have your hair and makeup trial done so it’s one less thing you have to worry about during wedding planning! Bonus: you’ll see how the hair and makeup looks in professional photos.
An engagement session gives your photographer a chance to get creative with portraits since there’s usually more time during engagement photos than on your actual wedding day.
It also gives the photographer a chance to see what kind of prompts and poses you guys are really into and they can then use those same prompts and poses on your wedding day.
