I would love to learn (fill in the blank) from you. Will there be time for that? Absolutely. Although this is not a workshop retreat (the focus is creating amazing content for your portfolio), I will make time to answers any questions you have, whether that’s one on one or in a group setting. The benefit of not doing formal workshops is that we’ll have plenty of time to hang out as a group and ask those burning questions. I will hold the space for this to be a collaborative and community-focused environment. No questions are off the table. Plus, you’ll benefit from hearing others’ perspectives as well. Everyone will bring a different skill set and together, we’ll help each other grow.

While we’re still in the planning stages of coordinating the styled shoots, the focus will be on couples. I am currently hunting for professionals (stylist, makeup artist, models, florist, vintage car rental service, etc) to coordinate with. If you’re looking for styled shoots focused on families-only or wedding attire-only, this is not the retreat for you. I do plan to have at least two couples in wedding attire, but not all. I want to try some more creative outfits (think baggy 90s denim, an oversized blazer, a fun dress with a pop of color) and move away from the kind you’re used to seeing at styled shoots. You’ll see the way I usually pose my couples for candid imagery and I’m also pumped to try out some more editorial-inspired shots.

What you’ll get but won’t expect is actual friendships in the photography community. If you’ve yet to find those people, this retreat will do just that. I've referred clients to every single person who attended the 2022 retreat. I’ve also personally invited every one of them to second shoot with me at a wedding. Your investment in this retreat is one I don’t take lightly. I will go out of my way to make sure it’s worthwhile.
