Maternity Sessions
You know those women who say they love being pregnant? I wasn’t one of them. Pregnancy was hard. It further confirmed to me that women are warriors. Which is why I love photographing maternity sessions that tell a story of both beauty and strength.
When I was pregnant, I honestly didn’t know if I wanted to get maternity photos taken. I gained more than 45 pounds and was not feeling like myself. I ended up not listening to my inner critic and decided to book a session.
To this day I still look back on those photos and feel extremely proud. To me, they symbolize a challenging, miraculous, and fleeting time in my life that only I will truly understand. I want you to have that, too. And maybe you’re not like me and you LOVE pregnancy. That feeling will shine through in your maternity photos.
So let’s celebrate your changing body. Because even though right now pregnancy feels like 326 years, one year from now you’ll be back in your pre-pregnancy clothes, chasing your baby around the house who just learned to crawl. If there’s one thing motherhood has taught me, it’s that time is a thief. But photos have a way of letting us relive a specific moment in time.
I’ve never regretted getting professional photos taken. Ever. I promise you if you’re on the fence about maternity photos, you will change your mind the moment I send you your sneak peek.
I recommend scheduling your maternity session between 31-35 weeks. Personally, I think 32 weeks is the sweet spot. This is the perfect time when you are showing but are not yet in the the last few uncomfortable weeks of your pregnancy. This also gives us time to reschedule if we have inclement weather.
