7 Questions You Should Ask A Wedding Photographer Before You Book Them

What questions should you ask a wedding photographer before you book them?

1️⃣ Ask them to share a full wedding gallery with you so you can get a better idea of what to expect for your final gallery. Not just the highlight reel they show you on IG.

2️⃣ Do they have a contract? Liability insurance? This protects both of ya.

3️⃣ Does their camera have one memory card slot or two? If only one, that means in the extremely unlikely event that one memory card failed, you can say bye bye to your photos.

4️⃣ Do they have flash experience? If part or all of your wedding is indoors and they don’t have a speedlite/off-camera flashes, welp this is gonna be a problem.

5️⃣ Do you get a print release so that you can print your photos at will, or do they charge for prints by the image?

6️⃣ How long does it take to see a sneak peek? How long until they deliver the final gallery? For reference, on average I send sneak peeks within 48 hours and deliver wedding galleries within 4 weeks.

7️⃣ Do they offer film? Film photographs give an editorial, nostalgic look and are so much fun to look back on.

Now after all those are out of the way, really picture yourself hanging out with them all day on your wedding. Would it feel like being with a friend or does the thought of spending the entire wedding day with them make you a little anxious? If it’s the latter, keep looking. You’re going to be with this person for 8+ hours on the best day of your life, don’t settle!
